A time for resolutions, and why we shouldn’t make them.

Greetings.

On this first day of 2008, as I plan to start the rest of the gear with a great deal of enthusiasm and hope, I cannot help but feel a bit depressed about the state of this country and our broken political system.  2008 is going to be quite an important election year, as it stands to change the very nature of this experiment called America.  More on that later..

People often talk about their new year resolutions around this time, but I don’t have one this year.  2007 went well for the most part, and I intend to try and make 2008 as good, if not better.  Rather than focusing on resolutions, I plan to focus on not doing the things this year that I don’t need to do.
